Paintbox Diaries: thoughts from the team

A collection of thoughts and pics from the team of Paintbox

3 guys discussing around a camera

"Well … Where do I start? Looking back on it, I really don't know how the fuck we got this to happen. But honestly couldn't have done it without the team. I just remember having to fit so much kit in an Uber and thought "What have I got myself into" (Said in Danny Dyers voice) wasn't sure I was making anything good, but I knew I had the support. We did well. Can't wait to show the rest of the world." - Tahmid (Director)

Paintbox film production on set

"From the jump, before I’d even had the chance to read the full script, I knew that we were going to really make a piece that would really resonate with people. Tahmid had even made a soundtrack beforehand to give the feel of the film and once I heard it I was locked in.

Michy is somewhat a younger version of myself so it wasn’t a massive challenge tapping into that vulnerable boy again. Whilst shooting I wanted to make sure that the ending line “I am enough” really hit, so each moment that you see Michy struggle was an aspect of the story I really dialled into." - Corey Fraser (Actor)

"Saw the first draft of the script and loved the relationship between Michy and his mum so I knew it was something that I wanted to be a part of. Seeing the growth of the script to screen was great to watch in real time, with the set being super inviting and fun to work. Super proud to be a part of this film." - Alfred Rolph (1st AD)
